A new model for conservation finance
Blue Sarin links real estate sales directly to marine protection, creating one of Indonesia’s first examples of property-based payment for ecosystem services.
-
Mechanism: 2.5% of every unit sold funds a VAST Marine-tailored conservation program
-
Impact: Ongoing protection of reef, coastal, and community ecosystems
-
Why it matters: Sustainability is built into the project’s financial DNA, not added later on as a donation
A bridge between global stakeholders and the Coral Triangle
VAST Marine collaborates with ODISEA Expeditions as its Coral Triangle regional partner, supporting research, permitting, and stakeholder engagement to enable advanced marine science and conservation missions across Indonesia and the wider region.

From ridge-to-reef data to regional solutions
Through Cristel Amarillo’s consultancy with GIZ, a multi-country knowledge product was produced on marine litter and residual waste, combining field data, site manager inputs, and regional analysis to inform practical ridge-to-reef waste management in Indonesia and the Philippines.
